Is Leicester the next place to invest in?


Leicester is becoming an interesting city regarding property investment.  Over the last year we have seen the new Mattioli Woods building replacing the old council building.  We have also seen the fast rise of a £50 million project opposite John Lewis on Vaughan way, which consists of a 150 room Novotel Hotel and a 100 room Adagio Aparthotel.  Further to this there are many more developments taking place in the centre of Leicester, including the new Queen Victoria Arts Club in the cultural quarter, where an astonishing £650,000.00 has been spent to develop Leicester’s most exclusive restaurant and private members club. Something that you might expect in London!

Let’s not forget about the recent Highcross expansion and Zara opening its new flagship store in the Highcross.

It does raise questions about Leicester and its property offering, doesn’t it?  Novotel is a four star brand and for them to invest an astonishing amount of money in the centre of Leicester, their corporate and strategic team must see future value in Leicester and its property market.  You can only imagine the amount of extensive research they have had to carry out before such an investment.  

Zara is one of the largest clothing retailers in Europe and for them to make such a commitment to open a new flagship store in the Highcross, is a good sign too right?

With all the above developments and many more to come, it makes you wonder about the future of Leicester’s property market, it certainly excites me and this property buzz we are having can only be a possitive sign.
