Where are house prices increasing the most?

If you think about our blog a few weeks ago covering if ‘Leicester is the next place to invest in?’ , it’s interesting that a few weeks later the Office for National Statistics (ONS) releases some interesting facts on house prices !  In the East Midlands, house prices are rising the fastest and have increased by an average of 6.5% in the year to August.

On average house prices have risen about 3.2%, with the average house now costing in the region of £233,000.00 according to the ONS.

Looking at the chart you can see that London’s house prices have had a negative impact, a surprise to many even when taking into account the slowdown of house prices across London.

When you take into account the amount of investment that is taking place by Corporate Companies as written in our blog and the new & existing developments that are taking place by house builders, it’s not hard to see why house prices have risen the highest in the East Midlands.

Whether you are looking to buy your first house, upgrade to a bigger home or looking to invest in property, you can say that it's an interesting and exciting time to buy or invest!
